Development and Application of Belt Conveyor
The Japanese belt conveyor company (JPC) first developed a belt conveyor and obtained a technical patent. It successfully manufactured the first belt conveyor at the end of 1979. Bridgestone Corporation has acquired the ownership of the JPC system. The worldwide production and sale of belt conveyors must be authorized by Bridgestone. Because the belt conveyor is separated from the general material handling form, it is widely recognized by users. At present, the belt conveyor technology is becoming more and more standardized, and people familiar with its performance consider it as a preferred bulk material transportation method. The use of belt conveyors is basically unlimited and any material can be used. Typical materials for transportation are ore, coal, coke, limestone, gravel, shale and alluvial soils. Some very difficult materials, such as steel concentrates, petroleum coke, clay, waste residue, concrete, metal scraps, humidified fly ash, tailings, alumina, and dust filters, can also be transported using belt conveyors.
